'STAND UP AND ACT OUT': TRAINING PLUS CURRICULUM FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS

For primary schools, the focus of this course is to teach participants how to deliver our anti-bullying curriculum, ‘Stand Up and Act Out’ which has been written to enable any teaching professional to confidently deliver outstanding drama lessons across the primary phase with little to no planning.
There is no expectation for attendees to ‘perform’ or role play during the course, they will learn by observing the trainer; watching and evaluating teacher demonstration videos; participating in whole/small group discussions, and trying out techniques and drama games in groups before putting what they learn into practice with their students.

- 12 months access to the ‘Stand Up and Act Out’ curriculum, which contains 36 lesson plans, training videos, and original music

Aims of the course:
To equip participants with the techniques and know-how to deliver the ‘Stand Up and Act Out’ curriculum.
Intended outcomes:
- Teach ‘Stand Up and Act Out’ with confidence and skill
- Understand how drama helps children learn about, and build happy and safe relationships
- Establish how drama teaches children to examine prejudice, recognise and celebrate difference, and respectfully stand up for themselves and each other
FAQ Is there an ongoing cost?
After 12 months, there is a cost of £200 per school, per year. This gives access to the full curriculum, supporting resources, and a pre-recorded version of the training for any new staff who need to learn quickly, and effectively, how to deliver 'Stand Up and Act Out'.

The curriculum contains 36 lesson plans, covers 100% of Relationships Education (England) and supports learners in working towards 95% of their Progression Steps in Health and Well-Being (PS1 – PS2, Wales)
In years 1–6, teachers deliver six one-hour lessons each year in which they use drama and play as a tool to:
- Examine prejudice
- Learn to recognise and celebrate difference, in school and the wider world
- Develop their Upstander skills
- Learn to recognise when they feel unsafe and how to seek support
In nursery/reception, teachers play drama games with children in which they:
- Learn how to recognise and celebrate differences, both in their own class and the wider world
- Learn how to build and nurture caring, respectful friendships and relationships
- Learn how to stand up for classmates who feel excluded
